  • How do I pick a good injector?
When you are in a consult, feel free to treat it like an interview! The goal is to make sure the injector is the best choice for you! Some good questions to ask include: How long have you been injecting full time? How often are you attending training to update techniques and improve skills? What kind of specialty training did you have after your graduate program? How have you established your expertise in the field?

  • Are Botox/ neuromodulator injections painful?
Most patients describe the injections as a little pinch. The needles are tiny, and the injections are quick and shallow. Local anesthetic is not necessary, and cold compresses can be used to numb specific areas.
  • When will I see results?
Depending on the choice of neuromodulator, effects may start to be seen as early as 3 days, but full effects will take 14 days.
  • How long will my treatment last?
The duration of results depends on the dose administered, technique, and individual patient metabolism. Most results last approximately 3 months.
  • How long do dermal fillers last?
The duration of dermal fillers depends on the area injected, type of filler, injection technique and patient metabolism. Most fillers last between 6-18 months.
  • Are dermal fillers painful?
For fillers, we use a very small needle, and the quick injection usually feels like a small pinch. Most patients find the treatment very tolerable. Topical numbing may be used to ease discomfort. We also provide cold compresses to patients for increased comfort and reduced swelling after injections.
  • Will I bruise after filler?
While we take ever precaution to avoid bruising, there is always a possibility of one. Please schedule filler two weeks or longer before any major event.
  • Will I have downtime?
The downtime with filler is very short. Most patients can return to work the same day. There is some swelling to be expected so there might be 1-2 days of social downtime. It is also helpful to avoid vigorous exercise for 24 hours post-filler injections.
  • Is the VIRTUE-RF treatment painful?
We apply a topical numbing to your skin before the procedure, and the treatment takes about 30 minutes per area (face, neck, decolletage, etc.). During the treatment, you will feel a slight heating and some pressure on the treatment area. For most patients, the treatment is described as a small pinch. It is more comfortable than many other RF micro needling devices on the market.
  • What can I expect after my procedure?
After the procedure, your skin will be red and may feel similar to a fresh sunburn. The redness will dissipate over the next 24 hours. You may have minor swelling for 12-24 hours, as well as pinpoint scabbing. There is minimal downtime and you can return to normal activities after the procedure, but must avoid sun exposure.
  • When will I see results?
For some patients, results may be seen after the first treatment. However, most begin to see results after the second treatment, with results continuing to improve over the next 6 months as new collagen is formed. To achieve optimal results, it is recommended to get 3 treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
  • How long will my results last?
After optimal results are achieved, maintenance treatments are recommended every 12 months.
